Local residents are moving out of town and are
selling
their converted church in Chambersburg. So, if you
ever wanted to live in a church here's your
opportunity. I drove by this evening an saw a cute
little house that's probably very unique inside.
The best news about this location though is that you could walk to a different restaurant every night for a month. There's plenty of Italian, Mexican Guatemalan and bar food nearby. |

Finally
We're aiming for the end of August to rent both units
in 8 Peace St. I've always included Peace St on the
web site but now we actually have a finish date in
mind.

Here's the most interesting new development this
month. Adams One is a 4 story building right on the
Raritan Canal. The building is on W. State St. at
Prospect St. opposite Ritchie Place (a nice street
with fabulous homes that's an island in a sea of
delapidation). Ritchie runs between W. State and Rt.
29 and today it dead-ends at Rt. 29. The state's
plan is to turn Rt. 29 into a boulevard and put a stop
light and cross-walk at Ritchie Place to allow access
to Stacey Park.
There's sales contact info and links to the MLS listings on the Trenton Lofts site. |

Just a note to long time Trenton Lofts fans, Michelle
and I have finally bought a building. It's a 5200 SF
mixed use building on S. Broad in the block between
Mill Hill Saloon and Light Furniture (Light Furniture is a
bit of a rehab project in of itself).
There are 2 apartments (already rented) and one storefront (occupied by Nubian News). There's a large apartment in the back of the building which we're gutting and turning into a modern entertaining space with home theater, open floor plan, sunken living space and garden back yard. It should take 6-8 months to finish. There's a possibility that we convert the 2 apartments in the front of the building to one big condo which we would then sell. |

Another Grand Plan
There's a very speculative proposal to the city to
rehab the Bell Telephone Building. It's speculative
because I suspect they are going after low income
tax credits by claiming that the artist housing in the
plan qualifies.
While this sounds clever, Isles (a non- profit developer) already tried this trick to no avail. |

2nd Year in Trenton
The second biggest film event in Trenton (besides
the Trenton Film Festival) is suprisingly enough
the Newark Black Film Festival. Newark has had a
series of "black themed" films for many years funded
by Bank of America and managed through the Newark
Museum. Last year they decided to branch out and
work with the NJ State Museum in Trenton to bring
the program to Central NJ. All sorts of stars were
trotted through Trenton last year including James
Earl Jones.
It's free and draws good crowds so they're doing it again this year. Films play on Thursdays into August. Here's a link to the schedule. There's also a kids program. Here's a house hunting tip ... 8 Peace St. (rental) and Adams One (sale) are within a few blocks of the NJ State Museum, so schedule your trip Trenton to look at one of the properties AND see a film. Just a thought. |

Kool and the Gang trombone player, jazz musician
and Trenton native Clifford Adams just keeps on
playing.
Clifford Adams will play live music downtown several times in the coming months. On July 14 he will be downtown from noon to 2 p.m. with a smooth jazz crew. On August 4 he and Richie Cole will play downtown in a quartet, and August 12 he will play at the Marriott with Inner Flight. |
